Chatrooms for Real estate investors

Chatrooms for Real estate investors

Brandon E Real Estate Investor from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Hello BP members,

Does anyone know of any chatrooms for real estate investors?

Is there a chatroom that hosts discussions with a good number of people on a regular basis??

I checked out weekendmillionaire dot com as someone suggested but they only hold their talks once a month. Any other recommendations? -Brandon

We’ve got a talk implement on the site, but no one to organize the talks right now. If you’re interested in setting one up, I’m sure we’d have slew of people interested.

I think this ought to be a primary part of the site. There are slew of good investors and good sellers out there who need an effortless way to get together. For example, I am winding up some inventory and in today’s electronic world it’s hard to get the word out that there are superb deals on fresh homes, not just foreclosures and junk.

Josh, maybe you could get something on the homepage.

Joshua- I have a feeling you’re right about how much interest a chatroom would generate. But in terms of setting it up I think I’m better off leaving it to the techies.

Jim- Your comment(s) are testimony to what Josh and myself are telling. We could all truly benefit from interacting in real-time.

We’ve got an OLD – low-budget talk available on the site at: talk, but if there’s more interest, perhaps we need to look at taking it to the next level . . .

I think the talk room that is up right now is good, maybe just no one going on?

I’ve looked high and low and I have to palm it to Joshua Dorkin and his team! This IS the best place online for Investors to talk, Q&,A, learn and create relationships.

Then it looks like if a puny icon could be displayed next to everyones user name that indicates that they are online or in the chatroom perhaps others might become more aware and begin to use the talk feature.

ok, maybe I’m a tech moron (not usually) but I can’t find the talk button.

Thanks for the suggestion, Brandon . . . we will certainly be looking deeper into the technology to better our talk capability.

Until then, we still have the chatroom I mentioned earlier.

I 2nd the need for the capability to see if people are online. This feature would be superb.

It would very likely help to have a link to the chatroom in a prominent place in the navigation. Maybe better than list status for each user, you could simply display how many people are presently in the chatroom. I might also suggest that you use a talk application based on IRC. For those of us who are talk junkies, IRC is a nice option. I’d be willing to assist in a chatroom upgrade project if you like.

i was just in the (current) talk room and I don’t think there is anything wrong with it at all.

I think we should schedule some times for people to be in there and see how it goes. If you are finding that people are complaining about the functionality of it, then look into upgrading it. In my opinion, it’s just fine the way it is.

I 2nd that! Mike and I were just talking in there and it worked good.

My recommendation is to have some type of icon or logo next to each users name when active in the talk room as Brandon suggested and also do some marketing/announcements to everyone on BP to let them know it is available and active.

I noticed that there were some scheduled talks listed there, are those active and taking place, or something still in the works?

It looks pretty good! It just needs a few more of the bells and whistles to evolve it into a another amazing BP contraption that we are blessed with from Josh and his team!

BP has set the bar pretty high, and we are so spoiled! 😀

For a while we were doing the scheduled talks until I became . . . shall we say . . . dazed?

Until a fresh generation of BP talk comes together, we can certainly do the scheduled talks . . . we just need a few people to take the lead on them.

Any interested parties?

I’m no techie, but love to talk. I’d attempt to be there at scheduled times or when others are in talk room.

I am pretty certain that we can get a good group together for this.

While my schedule is very crazy, I would have no problem committing to at least one talk a week to help it grow.

I’d be interested in being there also, but I’m no techie.

Me too, but still awaiting reaction on what is involved.

All that is involved is for someone to take charge for certain days of the week. The talk is always live. So . . . if we can agree to talk on Monday’s at 6pm EST about rehabbing, someone would agree to moderate or lead the talk. We could then promote that day/talk and hopefully see who shows up!

I am in to moderate on a subject each week/month.
